As the New Year has kicked off, I wanted to seek God on how to come forth with the FAMILY! We’re known to see on social media and in conversations about, “NEW! NEW! NEW!” That tends to go out the window by the 2nd week, right along with the New Year’s resolutions everyone tends to makes!
What if it’s not about the new, but about being obedient to what God has told you to do last year! What if you haven’t even walked into the new because you’re still full of your old self? As Pastor stated in his message, “It’s not a New Year, until it’s a NEW YOU!”
The work MUST begin on the inside! YES, on the outside we can make everything, and I mean everything, seem appeasing and fresh! But it’s the internal thermostat of our heart, mind, and soul that determines the foundation of us as being NEW!
What are we doing NOW to invest in our NEW? We’ve given our lives to Christ! We’ve been dipped in the Blood and in the Water for Baptism, but what are we doing and what have we been doing to have the freshness of Christ dwelling within us even NOW?
What changes are we implementing? How are we aligning ourselves in submission to Christ?
I recently started an intensive course called, “Do The Work,” and YAWL! I wasn’t ready! It’s tough! I made the decision last year to dive head first into investing in my natural and spiritual man! It’s a must! So this course is gutting it all out of me and it’s only day 4! Whew Jesus! Investing in me is a must because if I don’t, I know what habits will rise back up that I can give attention too, that aren’t conducive to my growth! I also know what strongholds are peeping its ugly head around the corner, ready to take hold of me again!
God has already spoken to me about the posture I am to take for the first 90 days of this year! There was no surprise when my flesh wanted to do what it wanted to do and put things off until a later time!
Instantly I knew what I wanted to share with us all! We tend to have this entitled attitude of thinking that we can come back to something later or that we can wait another day before we get to it! This type of thinking, I have found to be very DANGEROUS to my life!
What if there is no tomorrow? What if what we are required to do TODAY, has an expiration date of 11:59pm? What if someone’s life is depending on what you do NOW, instead of TOMORROW? We put off for tomorrow thinking that we control and rule our own lives!
God’s Word in Isaiah 46:10 states that ONLY God can tell the future before it even happens! Everything He has plans for will come to pass. He says He can do whatever He wishes!
Not moving when we’ve been instructed by God is Disobedience and detrimental to our lives!
We have so much pride when we believe and operate as if we know the full dynamics of how much time we have to contemplate on deciding when we will do something. Whew Jesus!
We put faith in ourselves and the world’s ways of maintaining when we are but vessels and made from dirt to fulfill God’s Kingdom Agenda! We leave God out of every equation, then expect Him to be okay with the decisions that we make! Better YET, we have the AUDACITY (Pastor’s Voice 😂 1/7/24 Sermon) to expect God to EXPEDITIOUSLY fix what we done mangled! The NERVE…I’ve been guilty, BUT GOD…
We miss the opportunity to glorify God and Honor Him when we decide to operate from our feelings and move at our own pace when it comes to being obedient.
Pastor said that in 2023, we were on milk; 2024 we eating the whole pig, cow and chicken! It’s time to eat! We’ve come off the milk and the baby food! We must GROW UP! Every level and stage of elevation will require something different from each of us, but we still have to grow up!
Those of us who have the attitude of, “I don’t feel like it,” “I don’t want too,” “I can’t,” It doesn’t look right,” “That’s not for me,” will see just what’s for you and what’s not, if you don’t step out and do something! SMH!
We take the first step by acknowledging God and walking in obedience. Proverbs 16:9 expresses that our hearts plan the way, but God is the one to determine the steps!
Obedience is ours! The details belong to God!
Stop waiting on the perfect setting to do what God has already told you to do! You’ll be sitting, waiting and watching life and others pass you right before your eyes!
We don’t have time to wait until tomorrow. Your life! Your family! Those who are assigned and connected to you need you to align, NOW!
We’re in a new year, but it’s only new to those who are in a posture and position to be NEW! The old mindset, ideas, behaviors, conversations, or relationships that don’t benefit you and that don’t bring Glory to God, MUST be set ablaze to never reign over you again!
Build that bonfire and release it all!

Yalonda! Thank you for your obedience to Christ! This entire blog spoke to me about obedience! I can’t afford to walk in disobedience. Giving God my Yes was the best thing I could have done!! Your statement, Obedience is ours! The details belong to God!“ is something I’m embracing in this season of my life! Growing pains is apart of my process, eating meat (not milk) is apart of my process and dying daily to my flesh is a part of my process!! I choose to stay committed to Gods plan and not my own!!
