CHOSEN FAM BAM!!! What’s up?? It’s been a while over in these blogging parts! 😉 You all have no idea how excited I am that God has released me to write a little something! It’s not just the idea of writing but the TOPIC that was submitted to me after prayer! This topic based on the reflection of God and seeing ourselves in comparison to HIM! Whew! JESUS!
I’m so in in awe of what God is doing at CHOSEN! I need to get that out the way before I even can write anymore! The lives and the FAMILIES that He is connecting to the MINISTRY has been BLOWING my MIND! I’m loving it! 🤗
Can I just say, that the PASSAGE that was given to me, has had me in a HOLD for almost two weeks! YES! Two weeks 🥴 We will get to that! As I began looking at the scripture and trying to apply it to my life and those around me, I must say God came with a HITTER on this one! A HOME RUNNER!
Being a DOER of the Word is applying the scripture to your life! It’s making the Word Alive and Well through you! It’s walking out the scriptures in the same form that God would walk it out! It’s being in tandem with the ways and character of Jesus! As I look at the way the world operates now and the language used, I can only think of the phrase, “Put your money where your mouth is!” Meaning put up or shut up! We have to be about this God life more than we want to be about anything else! We need to live, move and have out being in Christ! The same fragrant smell that God has invigorating outside of Him, is the same that should be invigorating outside of us!
Going deeper into the main focus I want to drag out how it emphasizes RECOGNIZING WHO WE ARE! Far too many times we sit back and take the punches that the enemy throws our way! We sit in our mess and we allow the ways of the world to overtake us! When we lose sight of who we are in Christ, it becomes hard for us to fully know and grasp who we really are!
I’ve been doing a bible plan with some ladies and both weeks have been focused on identity! Knowing who we are in Christ! Knowing and understanding who and what we have wrapped our identity around! Through the time I discussed my struggle with seeing myself the way that God sees me! The question was asked in a meeting this week and that was also my response of a struggle I’ve had! It’s not until we make the word ALIVE and allow it to pierce the deepness of our SOUL, that we begin to know who we are!
Until we grasp who Christ is, we can’t grasp who we are at all! All the versions I read of this passage was SPOT ON! I was tossing between the NKJV, MSG and the AMPLIFIED version! The message gives it to ya fully with a throat punch! “Don’t fool yourself into thinking you are a listener, when you are everything BUT!” Well okay then! “Letting the Word go in one ear and out the other!” Go ahead and tell us how you really feel! 🥴😂 (If you’re NEW here, WELCOME, because I write it how it’s given to me😂) We all know that saying if it goes in one ear and out the other! Meaning you haven’t heard or understand a THANG…yep…a THANG that’s I just said!
And as Parents, how many times have you said it? Lol! It’s as if you’re talking to a brick wall! Moments later, we come right back asking what was said and what was supposed to take place!
That’s how I feel this scripture is coming at us! We aren’t taking in the WORD! We aren’t having the face to face encounters that Jesus desires us to have with HIM! When moments hit; life hit; emotions get the best of us, we are faced with ourselves and the things that we have stored up on the inside!
The mirror is face to face with us and we are seeing ourselves operating from an old version of ourselves because we haven’t invested the needed time in the presence of God to see ourselves the way He sees us! How can we know how to deal with impure thoughts and remain pure if we don’t read the word and see that in Psalm 119: 9, it says by OBEYING the WORD! How can we know how to handle our finances if we don’t know that in Malachi it says how does a man rob God, by cheating God out of His Tithes and Offerings! How can we know the beauty and craftsmanship of our lives and how God created us, if we don’t study in scripture and meditate in scripture that God calls us His workmanship and how fearfully and wonderfully made we are!
That mirror of the WORD reveals to us where we really are and what we really have on the inside of us that needs to be gutted out and the things in us that needs God full manifestation and overflow of Him, to ignite the flame within to get us going!
Have you been a hearer only or a doer also???
Our reaction to life, will tell it all! The Word exposed me and the way I reacted to life this past couple weeks! The enemy had me truly doubting who I was in God! Had me forgetting who I was for a second! You see LIFE and the WORLD will have you so bogged down if you’re not careful! You’ll know who you are, but the moment you’re faced with the realization of speaking it, you get tongue tied! I know that has been me a few times! Smacked with the mirror of TRUTH and it will get you together real quick!
Jesus!
Although, there hasn’t been a real mirror being held in my face, the mirror of the Holy Spirit was smack dab in my face ready to hit me with the TRUTH! The WORD, really is a two edged sword, piercing to the core of our very existence.
We miss out on knowing and seeing who we are in Christ when we don’t fully take in the word and grasp the fullness of what the scripture is saying! We become engrossed with the idea of “this is normal! I’m used to this! Things won’t change,” that we don’t even speak the Word that we know is on us! We don’t hold captive the thoughts that come against what Gods word says! We allow the WORLD to define us when they are barely holding it together trying to find out who they are! We remain quiet when it’s time to fight back and charge, but we have a million words to speak when it’s time to HUSH and LISTEN!
We have to marinate in the word! Meditate on it! Sit in it! We can’t continue to just let it fly by the wayside and expecting change when we aren’t implementing the change!
The Word brings beauty to our lives! The Word clearly says in Isaiah that God gives beauty for ashes! We can’t see the beauty within and know the beauty within because the Word that has been engrafted, we don’t sit with it long enough to allow it to become us! I’ve been so guilty of this on my life! And God has said NO LONGER!
We have the engrafted DNA of the KING in us, so why do we continue to walk around like peasants? Why do we walk around like we have no home training in the spirit?
As we allow the firm foundation of Christ and the WORD to penetrate us, we begin to take on a whole new look! The image we saw on the mirror, at first, was muggy, it was depressed, it was bogged down, it was hopeless, it was pained! Go sit with the WORD; see what the Word says and then go back again and see what God is saying! Your Beauty! You’re the Apple of Gods Eyes! You are a Joint Heir to Christ, who may I add, is seated at the RIGHT HAND of the FATHER, you’re the head and not the tail; above only and NOT BENEATH! You’re a lender; NOT a borrower! You’re strong and mighty! You are peace! As God is…SO ARE YOU!
You are no longer your past! You are no longer the hurt or the abused version of you that you once were!
Mirror, Mirror! Who and what is looking back at you as you evaluate the essence of your life in comparison to who Christ is and who He says that you are?
Let God’s Word be a reflection of who you and who you strive to become even more!
