September (12 Days of CHOSEN)
Chosen kicked September off with Family and Friends Day. There were two mid-week refill Bible studies! Our very own, Pastor C, completed the Heart Check Series called, “I Won’t Compromise!” He graced us with a message entitled, “I Changed Clothes; Dress for your Season!”
We were able to have Self-Care Sunday! Taking time to take care of self is something Chosen makes space for!
Bishop Lyons presented the Heart Check Series BUT added some sauce to it. His message entitled, “There must be a match” did not miss! Bishop Lyons started out by explaining to Chosen that a lack of honor is a lack of recognition and how it is important to honor Pastor C and First Lady, Amanda! We were taught how honoring Pastor C, UNLOCKS the supernatural flow in his life. Ways that we can honor Pastor C starts by us doing our part in the Kingdom, dedicating our time and by encouraging OUR Pastor. Bishop Lyons taught us through scripture of how the children of Israel wanted a King even though they did not need a King. Samuel was their leader at the time BUT that was not good enough in their eyes. They wanted a king because it was what other people had at that time. Bishop Lyons stated the children of Israel had a fear of missing out on something they “thought” they needed.
Bishop Lyons message to Chosen was BOLDLY stated….CHOSEN, DON’T FALL FOR THE BAIT….Doing things like other churches is NOT what CHOSEN is called to do! Chosen WILL not look like other churches, Chosen will resemble what GOD called it to resemble….WHY? Because WE are CHOSEN!
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9-10 (NKJV).

Back to Israel….God was their King and Samual was their leader. Israel only wanted a King because they were in the mindset of: F O M O – Fear of Missing Out. It was made known that Pastor C is doing things the way GOD directs him to do them.
GET WITH THE PROGRAM CHOSEN!!
Chosen, we must not take it personal when we don’t match “THEM”’, look like “THEM”, or act like “THEM.”
BE CHOSEN! CONDUCT YOUSELF LIKE YOU ARE CHOSEN!
REMINDER ------God is Chosen’s King and Pastor C is our Leader!!! God gave Pastor C the mission and vision for the Chosen Church, “To build up a group of Kingdom minded people totally surrendered to God, who impact the community for His glory”....BECAUSE YOU ARE CHOSEN!!
God gave the children of Israel their decision to have a king, and that caused them to become misaligned. Chosen, when you are out of alignment with God, your reaction to the trouble will tell the truth! Your reactions will not slay giants, your obedience to God’s instructions will slay giants! We have to go with God’s decision! Pastor C must to go in the direction that God is leading Chosen….Not the direction of the partners.
CHOSEN…..DON’T GO LOOKING FOR SAUL WHEN GOD GAVE YOU PASTOR C AS YOUR LEADER!
Chosen, our breakthrough will come when WE learn to walk collectively in God’s glory. We must break the sound barrier, get on one accord and ACT like WE are CHOSEN! U.N.I.T.Y
Amos 3:3 How can two walk together unless they are agreed.” There is POWER IN UNITY CHOSEN!! The POWER of CHOSEN is based on the MATCH of the HEART.
QUESTIONS TO PONDER:
• Does your heart match God’s?
• What is your heart matching?
• Are you looking for God’s heart or are you looking for vengeance?
NOW IT’S TIME TO SPIN THE BLOCK BACK TO PASTOR C’S HEART CHECK SERIES. Happy Heart Check, “I Won’t Compromise!” sealed the sermon up RESPECTFULLY and PERFECTLY!
CHOSEN….There must be a heart match. Your heart must match someone’s heart. Pastor C’s question to us is, “Who’s heart does your heart match, God’s or satan’s? He showed us through scripture to guard our hearts because out of the heart flows the issues of life! What are the issues of your heart, Chosen?
Pastor C asked us two questions that prompted me to ask at this moment: How many times have you compromised your heart posture to please your flesh? What’s in your heart that can keep you from obtaining all God has for you? My question would be…. Has your heart been compromised? If so, repent, turn away from sin. God does not want you to live in sin because HE who is IN Christ is a NEW creature and OLD things are passed away (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Pastor C taught us how to work our faith by applying the word of God to our lives. “Faith comes by HEARING, and HEARING by the WORD of GOD.” Romans 10:17, but faith WITHOUT works is DEAD (James 2:26). You must do the work CHOSEN! Simply put…..
WORK YOUR FAITH!
YOU CANNOT STOP SINNING SO YOU SAY……YES YOU CAN! God will strengthen your faith to stop living in sin. Confess with your mouth, believe in your heart that you are free from sin and move forward BY FAITH! Your flesh rules you when you decide to keep sinning. The kryptonite of our hearts is disobedience. Your decisions to do or not to do…affects everyone you are attached to as well.
When we CHOOSE to do things in our own strength, we put OURSELVES in a BIGGER mess. Disobedience knocks your heart posture out of alignment with God.
You MUST CHOOSE to CRUCIFY your FLESH daily!
AGAIN, what has your heart Chosen? Do not fear something that does not have control of your destiny. Don’t let anyone or anything come before GOD. When we’re out in the streets representing GOD, our character should display His character. When you allow God to lead you, you will not have to worry about defending your character because GOD will defend who’s His.
We GROW IN God by STUDYING God’s WORD and by PRAYING and NOT compromising our HEARTS!! CHOSEN ……DON’T COMPROMISE!!!
Time to head to Back 2 Church Sunday with Pastor C! It’s time to GET dressed for church!!! Pastor C’s Message, “I Changed Clothes, Dress for you Season!” message was a spiritual dress rehearsal for the Kingdom of God!
It’s time to change clothes Chosen! Walk with me as I walk Pastor C’s Sermon out! Isaiah 61:3 tells us “To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
We must choose to change clothes! Break FREE, Accept the word of God for your life, take off the spirit of heaviness and put on the garment of praise!!!
NEWSFLASH: IF YOU HAVE A PRAISE IN YOUR HEART, PRAISE WILL SPRINGFORTH. WE CHOOSE TO WEAR THE SPIRIT OF HEAVINESS OR THE GARMENT OF PRAISE. PRAISE IS PERMANENT, EVERYTHING ELSE IS TEMPORARY. WHICH ONE WILL YOU CHOOSE TO WEAR??? HOLLA IF YOU HEAR ME 😊.
Some want temporary fulfillment to get a temporary fix, BUT God called us to have EVERLASTING JOY.
THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENTH (Nehemiah 8:10).
Take hold of the JOY that GOD gives, and you’ll find satisfaction. Pastor C flat lined us with. “If God is not your number ONE priority, then YOUR life is NOT a PRIORITY to YOU….to who….TO YOU! If you do not SEEK God FIRST, then YOU don’t want GODLY things added to you. Mic check! Mattew 6:33 says, “Seek ye FIRST the KINGDOM of GOD, and His RIGHTEOUSNESS; and ALL these THINGS will be ADDED unto YOU!”
Chosen! Do you want God to hear you? He HEARS your PRAISE. God inhabits the praises of HIS people (Psalm 22:3). God dwells where HE LIVES, DOES GOD LIVE IN YOU? If it is tough for you to pray, praise or give thanks to GOD on Sunday’s, then maybe you should pray, praise, and give thanks for during the week!! Psalm 100:4 is the spirit we should carry with us to The Chosen Church, “Enter HIS gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to HIM and praise HIS name!
Pastor C enlightened our understanding on 7 ways to praise GOD according to scripture. Todah: Call on God! Psalm 50:14, Psalm 50:23. Yodah: To raise your hand in worship. Exodus 17:11, Timothy 2:8 Barak: Kneel, Bow in reverence of the Lord. Exodus 34:8, Psalm 5:7. Shabach: Shout to God. Lift up your voice to God! Psalm 47:1, Isaiah 12:6. Zomah: Sing, play instruments. Psalm 150:3-5, Ephesians 5:19. Hallah: Act foolishly for the Lord!2 Samuel 6:14, Psalm 149:3. Tehillah: Sing, Praise, dance, All the above. Psalm 22:25, Isaiah 61:1-3. Chosen! We praise God because HE’S worthy of our praise!! Praise your way through your mess, praise your way through the pain. Put on your garment of praise, come to church ready (If you stay ready, you don’t have to worry about getting ready), seek GOD when you’re heavy!! If you are ashamed to praise God, He will be ashamed of you. The enemy wants you quiet….Open your mouth and praise GOD! Praise is YOUR weapon against the enemy…. Use your weapon! IT'S TIME TO CHANGE CLOTHES CHOSEN!!!!

Pastor C explained we must grow in GOD first, AND use the tools God gave us to mature us. We have every tool we need to GROW in GOD. We are FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY crafted (BY GOD). Our hearts desires sometimes delay God’s plan for our lives because WE want what WE want…SO, we cannot get mad when WE get what WE get! As I tell my children, you get what you get so don’t throw a fit😊.

I really enjoyed this! ✨We want what we want! We can’t get mad when we get what we get!✨ I felt that! That goes also for how we develop our relationship with God. We want this and that, but we fail to give God what is due to Him! When our desires do not align with the will of God for our lives, we prolong walking into what God has called us! It’s time to CHANGE CLOTHE! What we wore in one season may not be wisdom to wear in another! Our press and intent with God must change to fit the season! Although teens walk around In 100 degree weather with hoodies, we have to dress for the season the way we switch out our natural clothes to fit the season that we are in! I enjoyed reading this!
